EVAN DIXON was born in Watervliet, NY in 1952, the younger of two children. From an early age, he worked in his father’s hardware store. After completing high school, Evan attended Bryant and Stratton College, where he studied business administration and management with the intention of eventually taking over his father’s business. A life long love of music prompted a young Evan to learn the drums, and in high school he formed a garage band with some friends. While in college, he joined Murphy’s Law, one of the many bands on campus, and this weekend hobby soon turned into a full-time pursuit with paid performances throughout the Hudson Valley. Needless to say, his business plans were placed on hold. Following a 1971 battle of the bands in Amsterdam, NY, where Cameron Walsh’s and Rich Webster’s respective bands collapsed, Evan was a founding member of the Roadhouse Sons. He’s been the drummer ever since.

In 1975, Evan proposed marriage to Elaine Chafee, a fellow college student, whom he wed in 1976. In 1978, they bore their first child, a daughter, whom they named Lena.
